It looks, smells and is even made with butter, but Ghee is worlds apart when it comes to health benefits for you and your family.

What is Ghee?

Ghee is a superfood that has been used for over 5000 years as a staple of Indian cuisine and medicine.

Pepe Saya Ghee is a clarified butter made from unsalted cultured butter that has been fermenting for 4 weeks. It is then churned, washed, kneaded and salted, then finally simmered and caramelised over low heat. The liquid gold which remains is passed through a muslin cloth to remove any impurities before it’s bottled as ghee.

Sounds delicious right? Let me tell you,it truly is a game changer for me! I use it in place of most fats in my cooking and it adds the most amazing richness and depth to all my dishes. My favourites include roasting potatoes smothered in ghee, and popping corn in caramelised gold and topping it with Herbamare.

What are the Benefits of Cultured Ghee?

What distinguishes cultured ghee from even organic store-bought products is the culturing of the butter. This provides the butter (and ghee) with amazing probiotics and digestive enzymes making it easier to digest and thus promoting overall health, particularly for your gut. It is also Paleo and Keto friendly, making it popular amongst those on weight loss journeys and particular lifestyles.Ghee has also had the milk solids removed, therefore you may find that those with a dairy intolerance may be able to consume Ghee without any nasty side effects.

Our favourite brand of cultured Ghee is Pepe Saya. Pepe Saya Ghee  is sourced from 100% Australian cream from Country Valley Dairy in Picton, NSW. We have 2 sizes available, a smaller 190ml jar, and our value packed 1L jar at discounted prices.

Make the switch to Pepe Saya Ghee and let your gut and taste buds thank you!
